Recommendation 1
That Quebec universities revise university programs to teach the arts, literature, culture and Aboriginal realities in the programs dealing with these disciplines.
Recommendation 2
That Quebec universities integrate into the university curricula of future professionals training that aims to equip them with the realities of the Aboriginal clientele, particularly those working in the service sector, such as education, health and social services.
Recommendation 3
That Quebec universities make a real effort to understand the realities of Aboriginal students in the establishment of their policies.
Recommendation 4
That student associations work to ensure that access to the student financial assistance program for Aboriginal students is publicized.
Recommendation 5
That Quebec universities adopt a real institutional policy to promote the reception and support of Aboriginal people at university. That this policy be designed according to the realities of Aboriginal clienteles and in partnership with the First Nations.
Recommendation 6
That Quebec universities establish and promote an accessible, dynamic and safe gathering place for Aboriginal students on their campuses.
Recommendation 7
That Quebec universities have at least one resource person, ideally Aboriginal, who will be responsible for accompanying Aboriginal students in their studies.
Recommendation 8
That Quebec universities adopt a self-identification form with the objective of optimizing the services offered to Aboriginal students. That this form be designed according to the realities of Aboriginal populations.
Recommendation 9
That Quebec universities support, encourage and sustain Aboriginal cultural initiatives and activities on campus.
