Meeting with Frédéric Bouchard and Maxime Blanchette-Joncas: Federal research funding

In this episode, we have the opportunity to discuss research funding in Canada with two key players in the field.
🗣️ Frédéric Bouchard is currently Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Montreal. A former president of ACFAS and the Advisory Committee on the Federal Research Support System, Mr. Bouchard was commissioned to write a report on improving the federal university research support system.
🗣️ Maxime Blanchette-Joncas is currently a member of Parliament for the Bloc Québécois in Rimouski-La Matapédia. He recently served as vice-chair of the Standing Committee on Science and Research and has been a strong advocate for the government to increase funding for federal granting agencies.
Through their work, these two individuals have helped secure $825 million in funding for federal granting agencies. This funding had not increased in 20 years!
