Introduction

Welcome to the unionetudiante.ca site (hereinafter referred to as the "Site").  This document deals with the policy of the Quebec Student Union (hereinafter: "QSU"), which operates the Site, regarding the protection of Personal Information.
 

1. General

The protection of your personal information and the information collected about you is important to us. In this privacy policy (hereinafter: the "Policy"), we want to inform you about the purposes for which we collect information about you and the ways in which we collect such data (hereinafter: the Information), store such data and use the Information.

By viewing the Site, you agree to be bound by the Policy. We reserve the right to change the Policy at any time at our sole discretion and without notice. By continuing to view the Site, you signify your assent to any changes in the Policy and you agree to be bound by the Policy as amended. We recommend that you review the Policy regularly.

Information collected about you may include, without limitation, your name, association name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, age, cookies, IP addresses, etc. We also collect information about your use of the Site, including the dates and times of your visits, the pages you view, the documents you download, the type of web browser you use during your visit, and your electronic communications with us (including emails and the "Contact Us" form available on the Site).
 

5. Storage and Protection of the Information

We keep Information only as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or, if required by law, for a longer period of time. We take reasonable steps to protect the Information from misuse, loss, alteration or disclosure. Our employees and agents are bound by the Policy. The person using the Site represents that he or she has the capacity to consent to the collection of this information. If the QSU is otherwise informed that an individual did not have the capacity to consent to the collection of this information, it will be destroyed as soon as possible.

We reserve the right to use Information internally at our discretion, including to respond to your questions, improve our Site, keep in touch with you, analyze your use of the Site and how you view it, perform administration, and record trends and statistics.
 

7. Sharing Information with Third Parties

The QSU will not disclose or market to third parties any confidential information that you have entrusted to us, except pursuant to a legal obligation (such as through testimony in court, subpoena, or pursuant to an order of a court of competent jurisdiction).
 

8. Hyperlinks

The Site may contain links to sites that are under the control of third parties, who may also collect your personal information. This Policy does not apply to the practices of such third parties, and we assume no responsibility for them. By using the Site or accessing the sites of third parties on the Site, you release us from all liability for the actions and omissions of those third parties. In compliance with common practice, we may send a cookie to your hard drive to analyze your activities on the Site and to remember you the next time you visit. These cookies include: your computer's anonymized IP address, your device's operating system, the pages you visit (date, time, duration, frequency).
